Athens Wellness Center Adds Acupuncture and Traditional Therapies

An Athens wellness center expanded its treatment offerings this fall to include acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine consultations, responding to growing client interest in integrative approaches that combine Western wellness practices with traditional therapeutic techniques.

The center hired a licensed acupuncturist with additional training in herbal medicine consultations, offering sessions aimed at addressing chronic pain, stress management, and sleep issues alongside the center's existing massage and skincare services. Staff say the expansion reflects consistent client requests over several years for treatment options beyond the center's traditional spa menu.

"We kept a running list of client requests for years, and acupuncture was consistently near the top," said the center's director. "Athens has a client base that tends to research treatment options thoroughly before booking, and a lot of them came in already knowledgeable about acupuncture and specifically asking when we'd offer it."

Early client response to the new offering has been strong enough that the center added a second acupuncturist within three months of the initial launch. The center says clients seeking treatment for chronic pain conditions have made up the largest share of acupuncture bookings so far, followed by clients citing stress and sleep-related concerns.

The center says it is evaluating additional traditional therapy offerings, including cupping and herbal consultation packages, based on continued client interest surveys conducted throughout the year.
