Pirelli to Invest $1.2 Billion in Rome, Georgia, Creating 1,000 Jobs
Gov. Kemp announced a multi-year expansion of Pirelli's Rome facility, with robotics first and bulk hiring expected to begin in 2029.

Gov. Brian Kemp announced on September 22 that tire maker Pirelli will invest $1.2 billion and create 1,000 jobs in a multi-year expansion of its facility in Rome, Georgia.
The Plan
The company will expand in two phases: first adding latest-generation robotics equipment, then a traditional manufacturing process that will require more hiring. Bulk hiring is expected to begin in 2029, with the plant projected to reach full operations in 2033. The expansion supports Pirelli's "local for local" strategy and introduces technologies such as Cyber Tyre.
Background
Pirelli located its U.S. headquarters and manufacturing in Rome in 2002 and employs 234 Georgians today. Kemp and the First Lady met Pirelli executives during a 2024 economic mission to Italy.
