A Savannah spa introduced a digital skin analysis system this month that uses high-resolution imaging to map hydration levels, pore size, and sun damage beneath the skin's surface, generating individualized skincare regimens rather than the more generic product recommendations spas have traditionally offered.

The imaging technology captures detail not visible to the naked eye, allowing estheticians to identify early sun damage or hydration imbalances before they become visually apparent. Clients receive a personalized treatment and product plan based on the scan, which the spa updates during follow-up visits to track progress over time.

"Clients used to leave with a generic product list based on general skin type, and honestly that's a pretty blunt way to recommend skincare," said the spa's lead esthetician. "Now we can show a client an actual image of hydration levels beneath their skin's surface, and the treatment plan follows directly from what we're actually seeing rather than a guess."

The technology has proven particularly popular among clients managing early signs of sun damage, a common concern given the spa's clientele of frequent outdoor recreation enthusiasts along Georgia's coast. The spa says initial client feedback has been strongly positive, with several clients specifically citing the visual scan results as motivating more consistent adherence to recommended skincare routines.

The spa plans to offer complimentary follow-up scans every three months for clients enrolled in ongoing treatment plans, allowing both staff and clients to track measurable changes over time.
